At the age of 5, Jesse Warner was often found huddled over a bucket of Lincoln Logs. “My parents bought me my first set, and I would get frustrated because I’d run out of logs before ideas.”

At the age of 9 Jesse took it upon himself to build a custom tree house in his backyard in New Jersey. Using scraps of wood and supplies he found around the house and his father’s Volvo garage, Jesse designed and crafted a 3 story tree house. Complete with a lookout tower, windows and old Volvo seats for furniture.

While earning his Masters in Education at Duquesne University Jesse started working with a local company doing porch repairs, chimney rebuilds and other jobs involving fine carpentry and masonry work.

In 2010 – and equipped with the truck he’d always wanted – he founded Warner Design & Build. Utilizing his summers off from teaching at North Allegheny, Jesse works doing what he loves most - building.

“Opening the business was something I had envisioned for as long as I can remember. I always wanted to be the benchmark for other contractors,” says Jesse. “While I was building the business, I always kept this saying in my head: A laborer works with his hands, a craftsman works with his hands and mind, and an artist works with his hands, mind and heart. My heart has always been in this.”
